The past few years have gone well for 34-year-old Christophe Hardiquest. To begin with, in 2011 he moved his restaurant from a cramped ten-table storefront in Brussels’ Uccle neighborhood to a much larger space in the heart of the city’s grand diplomatic quarter. Hardiquest built himself a beautiful open kitchen in the process, and less than a year later, one of the leading Belgian food guides awarded the restaurant its highest rating. When it comes to his cooking, reviewers describe Hardiquest as a perfectionist with “an almost maniacal attention to detail.” Many reviewers took note of the restaurant’s relocation, saying that “one of Belgium’s most talented chefs has moved to a classy and beautiful space” and has “made his cooking a bit more classical” in order to match the new surroundings.
